KEVIN.MURPHY promotes an essence of luxury which is heavily seen in its packaging and branding. Due to this, it was absolutely imperative to reflect hints of the brand’s infamous turquoise and purple throughout the office refit for the company’s headquarters.

As you enter the foyer of 1 Bligh Street, an intricate set of elevators takes you up to the 22nd floor that opens to reveal a reception area that exudes an air of opulence and luxury. In the middle sits a striking green marble desk which is custom-made to fit a shape similar to that of KEVIN.MURPHY’s shampoo bottles. The Orien Globe sits above the desk casting a warm and inviting glow throughout the space. Crisp white walls and sleek, minimalist furniture are peppered throughout the office to establish a clean aesthetic, reflecting the brand's commitment to simplicity and purity. Strategic pops of the brand's signature colours can be found in the space. This may take on the form of vibrant accent furniture or subtle wall art that infuses energy and cohesion throughout the space.

Location

One could call it a work of art. From the organic curvature subtly emerging amidst the Sydney skyline. That is 1 Bligh Street, which came to from the creative minds of Ingenhoven Architects. The tower sits roughly at 42 000 sqm and has been claimed to be Australia’s first truly “green” skyscraper which will be fully explored in the next slide.

What makes 1 Bligh Street unique however is the elliptical shape of the building. Due to this employees in almost all offices can enjoy the panoramic views of Sydney. Not only does it maximise views but also simultaneously minimises solar heat gains. To reduce energy demands significantly whilst maintaining the view of the Harbour, the building has a double layered facade.
